Soon to be published by the Sinister Horror Company

Plot outline: The world has been taken over by zombie. Small pockets of humanity remain. Cities lay in ruins.

But none of this can stop Jake Trundle from solving the biggest case of his career because Jake Trundle is also a zombie. And somewhere deep within the recesses of his long dead brain flicker the embers of the last case he was working before the world turned to hell. Now Jake is compelled to work the case for all eternity, or at least until New Orleans falls down around his ears.

He doesn't know why. He doesn't know how. And he doesn't know much of anything when the smell of fresh meat is on the wind but he's going to solve this case anyway. Even if it kills him all over again.

Jake Trundle is a zombie. But he was a detective first. And nothing can take that away from him. Not even the death. (2012 ©)

Influences: Obviously zombie master George A. Romero for his brilliant Dead series, but also Raymond Chandler. This is very much a detective novel as well as a zombie novel so I borrowed from the late great Mr Chandler where I could. I hope he doesn't rise up from the grave and come looking for me. Lastly, the city of New Orleans itself, where the book is set. I spent six months there 20 or so years ago and loved it. A beautiful city (even the horrible bits seem somehow magical in my rose-tinted memory) and one I'd love to return to but inwardly I know I probably won't – especially when I still haven't seen Cleethorpes yet.

Rights: The print, film & TV rights are all available and a screenplay has been written. Producers or directors wishing to see it please get in touch.
